Sun Project: Establishment of Advanced Educational and Technology Resources in Armenia

EIF and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) signed a grant contract that provides $750,000 financing support from USAID to the new R&D and educational project implemented by EIF and Sun Microsystems Inc.. 

The project aims at confronting employee shortage and low value added nature of Armenian IT businesses by expanding the capacity of qualified graduates and introducing high productivity services to the Armenian IT sector. The program draws on the experience and expertise of EIF in building new technology start-ups and university programs, and Sun Microsystems’ vast technological base and interest in Armenian market. 

The project focuses on the establishment of advanced R&D, testing, integration, and educational facilities in cooperation with major Armenian private firms and universities.
